Co-Motion Cycles

Co-Motion Cycles started simply: We built a few bikes for ourselves and our friends, and discovered that we were able to rise to the occasion when challenged by new ideas or problems. Not once have we stopped questioning the way things have always been done.

While finding better ways to make our bicycles stand apart, we've learned more than we ever imagined, from designing new bicycle tubing to the intricacies of our own CNC machining and maintaining an amazing, talented workforce.1983 - Dwan Shepard completes his first bicycle frame, completing a framebuilding class taught by Master Builder Gary Hale.

We are a little different here at Co-Motion Cycles, and we take great pride in carving out our own path, navigating through the forests, rivers, the wet and dry lands, inter-woven with roads and trails; every perceivable line an opportunity for adventure. Our adventure has been grand. When you start with nothing and create a legacy, you've got to take a moment now and then to recognize how you've been blessed.

Co-Motion Cycles has built upon our range of single bicycles* since our beginnings in 1988. You can plainly see here our roots and our zeal for exploring the roads and trails of Oregon, the back country of North America, and the world beyond. Each bicycle in our collection has its own story; its reason for being.

Co-Motion Cycles has grown its reputation for producing world-renowned tandems since our inception in 1988. We put the status quo on its ear with our very first road tandems, garnering attention with racing successes on the local, national and international stages.

In the three-plus decades since, we've broadened the scope of what a tandem can do while simultaneously raising expectations for quality, longevity, and that special intangible feeling when you know a bike is just "right".Here is our complete selection of tandems, from our family-oriented PeriScope line, to our adventuresome Steelhead, uber-touring Speedster and Java tandems, speed-demon Macchiato and the "do-it-all" Carrera and Robusta tandems.

We paint all of the Co-Motion bikes in-house at our Eugene, OR factory using the best paints and technology the automotive industry has. Including state of the art down-draft spray booths with an extensive Sikkens paint bank, mixing room, and software system. This allows us to offer award winning and industry leading finishes on your new bike.
