Julie Berkowitz is a ceramic artist and educator who lives and works in Chapel Hill, NC. Julie focuses her work on reminding us of our connection to nature and the world around us. She draws inspiration from her childhood growing up in the Pennsylvania countryside, playing on the shores of Lake Erie, and currently living in the woods of North Carolina.
The connection to the earth and the world around us is kept alive through Julie's techniques of incorporating the clay with textures, surface decorations, and colors bringing the entire natural world together in her nature inspired pieces of functional art. Julie wants people to be able to use her pieces daily, feeling and keeping that connection with nature alive.
