Simply put, Stellar Charters LLC out of Kenosha Wisconsin has established itself as a premier Lake Michigan fishing charter service. We have been aggressively charter fishing the waters off Kenosha, Wisconsin since 2001 and are now operating 3 full-time sport fishing boats. We serve the public with 2 trips daily, 7 days a week from late-April through mid-October.
Charter fishing for salmon and trout on Lake Michigan is our full-time business. All tackle is provided and no prior fishing experience is necessary. Our Plan A package consists of a 5-hour PM trip (usually a noon start) and a 6-hour Morning Bite ( 5 AM start). Package includes 1 night lodging (2 rooms) at the Merry Yacht Inn. Arrange your own lodging? Our Plan B package consists of a 5-hour PM trip (usually a noon start), an 8-hour full-day trip (5 AM start) and includes 1 night lodging (2 rooms)at the Merry Yacht Inn.
The Fish

The King (Chinook) salmon is the fish that put Lake Michigan's fishery on the map. People travel from all around the U.S. to enjoy charter fishing on Lake Michigan, especially out of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Here, they have an excellent chance at hooking into a large King Salmon. King's are, arguably, the hardest fighting fish in freshwater.
Recipes

Marinate salmon filet with skin on or off in Italian dressing, lemon pepper, or something similar for a few hours. Carefully flip filet over and cook for about another 5 minutes and you should have filet that's slightly charred on both sides. Take a spring coho filet (smaller spring fish are the best) and remove skin and small strip of pin bones.

Kenosha offers two places to stay in the "harbor area". The Merry Yacht Inn and the Wyndham Garden are very conveniently located near the docks and are walking distance from plenty of restaurants and bars. Lodging at the "Merry Yacht Inn" is included in our "Package" trips. It is an old firehouse converted into a small lodge.

From Interstate 94, take Exit #342 (Hwy 158) East. Follow 158 East for 7 miles all the way until it dead-ends at the harbor (6th Ave). Turn North (left) onto 6th Ave and go 2 blocks to the first set of traffic lights which is 50th Street. Turn East (right) on 50th Street. At this point, you will be on a bridge that crosses over the harbor.
