Protecting your eyes from sunlight and avoiding smoking are the best way to prevent cataracts. Wear sunglasses that screen out the sun's ultraviolet (UV) light rays. You may also wear regular eyeglasses that have a clear, anti-UV coating. Positive family history of parents, brothers, sisters, or other family members who have cataracts.
Age Related Macular Degeneration

About 80% of people who have AMD have the more common dry form. Dry AMD is when parts of the macula get thinner with age and tiny clumps of debris called drusen grow. You slowly lose central vision.
