Ballet Arkansas' roots can be traced back to the Little Rock Civic Ballet, founded in 1966 by Donald C. Cranford. The organization was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 1979 with a dream to become the region's foremost professional ballet company, and over the course of the next 43 years, Ballet Arkansas' world-class education programs and performances would touch the lives of nearly 400,000 Arkansans.
