Simply turning on the heat and feeling warm air is not a good way to be sure. Low refrigerant, dirty coils, or weak fan motors may have just barely let you make it through the summer, but when winter sets in, so do the insane heating bills! Your heat pump most likely has a secondary heat system in the electric heat strips, and that is the most expensive heat your system makes.

Mold complaints are always a big part of the HVAC business, and while we aren't a mold remediation company, we still have some great options to kill the mold that is already growing in air ducts, and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the home. Mold can only be present if there is enough moisture to feed its growth.

Tinkering in a garage or shed can be a real burden if you do it in the heat of summer or the cold of winter. Heating and cooling these spaces full time isn't cost effective, and can create problems with your homes air conditioning if you try to tie it all in together. Window units have a low up front cost, but are energy hogs, and not energy efficient.
