VNB's Nutcracker is a holiday favorite across the region. Virginia National Ballet students benefit from outstanding training as well as affiliation with the professional Ballet Company, an Affiliate Arts Partner of the Hylton Performing Arts Center. Virginia National Ballet is home to both an outstanding professional ballet company and pre-professional school, and has been serving Northern VA since 2013.

Founded in 2013 by the husband and wife team of Rafik Hegab (Artistic Director) and Elysabeth Muscat (Managing Director), VNB is home to both an outstanding professional ballet company and an excellent school. We're proud to have been voted "Best Dance Studio in Northern Virginia" by Northern Virginia Magazine, and to be a leading dance organization in Northern Virginia.

VNB's annual performances of The Nutcracker are sold-out events at the Hylton. Our popular productions feature world class dancing, great choreography, and beautiful sets, costumes, and special effects. VNB is thrilled to perform the 9th annual Nutcracker in 2021! VNB will present three new World Premieres: The Beatles, Tango Nights, and For those we lost!

Ms. Muscat Hegab is the Founder of Virginia National Ballet, and has devoted her entire career to the arts, as a performer, teacher, and administrator. Under her leadership, Virginia National Ballet has quickly become an important cultural institution in Northern Virginia.
The School was voted Best of NOVA 2017 in Northern Virginia Magazine, and offers outstanding instruction with excellent faculty in many dance forms as well as music, and students have the advantage of performing annually at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in The Nutcracker and the Spring Recital, alongside professional dancers and famous guest artists.
