Health Care For All's free consumer HelpLine can assist residents with their health coverage questions and needs. The HelpLine takes calls in English, Portuguese and Spanish and is available 9am - 5pm Monday through Friday. Health Care For All is the leading consumer health care organization in Massachusetts running campaigns on critical health care issues facing consumers.

Current campaigns include prescription drug affordability, oral health care access, children's health, health justice, and more. Health Care For All is actively recruiting, training, and partnering with individuals, families and organizations to advance health justice and engage in policy campaigns.

A percentage of a health care provider's charge for which the patient is financially responsible under the terms of the policy. A dollar amount that a patient must pay for health care services each year before the insurer will begin paying claims under a policy. ACA limits annual deductibles for small group policies to $2,000 for policies that cover an individual, and $4,000 for other policies.

Open Enrollment is the time of the year where consumers can buy a new health insurance plan or change their current plan through the Health Connector or directly through the insurance carrier. If your employer doesn't offer health insurance or you cannot afford the plan offered by your employer, you can apply for individual insurance through the Massachusetts Health Connector.
Insurance Assisters

HCFA runs a private online community called In the Loop - Massachusetts, where enrollment assisters interact with others doing similar work. This project is modeled on a national online community developed by Community Catalyst and the National Health Law Program. Enrollment assisters across the state can communicate with each other on the website to share their experiences with eligibility and enrollment work.
