In 2015, Scoop Du Jour was founded by Shannon McAuley and Fran Abbott after they discussed the need for an ice cream shop in the Village of Chatham. Both of them wanted to see an old-fashioned, hand-scooped ice cream shop, and when they realized they had over 50 years of combined years of experience in retail, they went for it!
