Thank you for your interest in guitar and/or drum lessons! My goal is to help people become well-rounded musicians who enjoy the process of learning and making music! I've been playing drums and guitar since the early '80s and have played with many bands. I've been teaching people of all ages and backgrounds in Sioux Falls since 2004.

Darren developed a good rapport with my daughter. She has a slight emotional disability and Darren's mild manner and humor helped her keep her temper in check. Darren makes guitar learning fun and the weekly lesson is a great stress reliever and decoupler for someone that picked up guitar later in life.

Make up lessons are not guaranteed, except for instructor absence or inclement weather. If I have to cancel a lesson, I will let you know as soon as possible and send you a list of alternate lesson times for the week. If you can't make it to a lesson, let me know as soon as possible before the lesson, and I can send you a list of alternate lesson times for that week.

Drumming offers an opportunity to develop a closer relationship with time and space, and it also offers a way to express yourself, with potential on par with visual art and written language. By challenging yourself to play rhythms that are new and unfamiliar, you can expand your ability to create, react, improvise and learn.
