Berns Therapy Solutions provides speech-language therapy for children from preschool through high school. We specialize in evaluating and treating communication difficulties related to speech, language, literacy, and social skills. Therapy sessions are individually tailored to meet the needs of each child.
Parents receive monthly therapy updates detailing objectives for therapy sessions, their child's progress, and how to promote carryover of skills at home. With parent permission, therapy updates can be shared with your child's teacher to promote carryover of skills at school. During the school year, our speech-language pathologists are available to travel to many area private schools without incurring any additional travel fees.

Emily Byram graduated with highest distinction from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill with a double major in Communication Sciences and Psychology. She continued her studies there to receive a B.S. in Speech-Language Pathology, receiving a U.S. Department of Education Social Inclusion Grant.

We will schedule an initial evaluation, based on your concerns. If your child has been evaluated in the past 12 months and you provide us with a copy of that evaluation, we can proceed straight to treatment. A new client information form will be emailed to you. If therapy is recommended, the length and frequency of speech therapy will be determined based on the results of your child's evaluation.
Telehealth via Zoom
Report
We now provide speech-language assessment and therapy through secure video conferencing (i.e., Zoom). Telehealth has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person speech-language therapy for most children. Our fee schedule is the same. As always, our therapists will provide individualized home practice activities weekly and written progress updates monthly.
