Julie Brand Pottery

My degree in Art Therapy serves as a compass for my ceramic art. My clay work is a source of therapy and expression for me and, hopefully, for the viewer. For many years I have focused upon uniting clay and painting. As I become more proficient, I am more able to express my thoughts, concerns and sentiments through my art.

Recently I have been exploring the theme that all science on earth is one and that all people are as one. Whether we are urban or rural and across borders, we are one. We are connected and symbiotic. I reflect upon my time living in urban areas such as Boston, Manhattan, my hometown of Cleveland, and even in my current rural home of Cuba, Missouri.
