I completed my residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida College of Medicine, Jacksonville in 2010. Gynecologic ultrasound allows us to evaluate the uterus, endometrium (lining of the uterus), cervix and ovaries. These images are utilized to determine the cause of abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, pain with sex, infertility, or IUD placement.

For some couples, getting pregnant can be difficult. If you have not been able to get pregnant after 1 year of trying to conceive, you may have infertility. Infertility may be a result of female or male factors. Female factors include problems with the fallopian tubes, uterus and ovaries. Some of the problems may be anatomical (problems with the uterus or tubes) or functional, such as ovulation.
