We're now offering take away service, allowing you to place orders by phone for pick up or for delivery via takeout, Uber eats, Postmates and DoorDash from 5-9pm Tuesday through Sunday. Came here on a Friday night to celebrate by boyfriend's birthday. They were extremely accommodating when we had to change our reservation time and didn't haggle us. The beans they give you with the bread to start is amazing. For appetizers we ordered the meatballs and calamari. The Meatballs had great flavor but weren't very warm. The calamari was crispy and light and the spicy sauce was perfect. My boyfriend ordered the veal pappardelle which had large pieces of tender veal. I ordered the bolognese and it was amazing. You can taste the fresh homemade noodles which sets both pasta

Wow. I'll admit, I'm not usually a big pasta fan so coming here, I expected regular schmegular Italian food. I'm not sure if it was the cocktail talking lol but the food is just great. The bread and oil they serve before your entrees come is definitely something else, and I enjoyed their pasta, fish, and desserts. Another thing: I really dislike tirimisu. But this place's tirimisu is tasty and apparently made in-house.

Wow! We had the most amazing visit for my birthday last night. From the moment we walked in the door, the staff were incredibly friendly. We had arrived about 30 minutes early for our reservation and they were able to seat us right away, which was very nice. Once we were seated, our waiter came to greet us and he has the most infectiously happy attitude--it was wonderful! We enjoyed a couple apps (bruschetta and calamari) that we delicious, and we enjoyed the seafood special and bolognese for our entrees. All of the food was phenomenal. We had such a lovely time and the food did not disappoint

Absolutely delicious! Visited Volo Ristorante for the first time this evening to celebrate my sisters birthday. From the appetizer, to the home made Tagliatelle Bolognese, and finishing with the Tiramisu it was all pure perfection. Sending a special thanks to the incredible staff who made my mine and my sisters evening better than we could have imagined! Will for sure be visiting again in the near future.

Volo has lovely ambiance, welcoming and friendly staff, and fantastic Italian food. We went last night as a party of 6 (and a baby). The waiter was thoughtful with the sleeping baby. Every dish we had from appetizers to the 4 desserts were delicious. The calamari with fried zucchini was the standout for me, but the salted caramel gelato is a close second. I will say that the pasta portions are small, especially compared to the price, so don’t come extremely hungry. But since that was my expectation coming in, we were pleased and will be returning.

This was a perfect Italian date night experience! My wife and I were impressed from the very start. The ambiance was exactly what you want for dressing up and feeling fancy. The staff was extremely professional and attentive. They are clearly proud of what they are doing. Philly was our server and he truly made the experience a 10/10. We ordered wine, two appetizers, and two entrees with handmade pasta. One of the entrees was the special, ravioli stuffed with butternut squash. It was out of this world. The host made a point to come over and tell us the ravioli had been handmade less than an hour

I have driven by this place for a while and had dined there. It doesn't show up on Open Table so it is a bit of a pain to make a reservation, but we did. Very nice atmosphere, obviously a labor of love by the owners. Our waiter from Sardinia was a delight. Menu had great variety although I would have preferred to see less tomato sauce and more variety on the pastas. I had veal marsala and it was outstanding. Wine list was nice, if a little over my head with it's Italian offerings! Our waiter made a great recommendation. All in all a great go to place

We have been twice. The first time was very good. Service excellent both times. However the food is very hit and miss. The veal was extraordinarily tough, almost inedible. They offered complimentary desert but I still don't know if the quality justifies the cost. Overall there are much better dining experiences to be had in Charlotte.

Great choice for Italian! Homemade pasta, I had squid ink with spicy tomato sauce and shrimp. My husband had the veal tagliatelle. Both were delicious! The bottle of Super Tuscan that was recommend complimented the pasta beautifully. Atmosphere also great as well as the service. Definitely recommend!

Excellent service!! Our waiter Marco took great care to make sure we enjoyed every part of our meal. His excited energy was contagious and he made some great menu recommendations! Then there's the bold flavors and traditional textures in every dish. We were absolutely blown away! Hands down Volo is the best hole in the wall Italian restaurant in Charlotte, we will be back!!

So sad I don’t have a good review for this place! Went for a date night. We had a reservation and we were sat at a poorly located table (where all the servers and guests using the bathroom walk back and forth, small table sat on wall) I wish I had asked to sit elsewhere, but we went along with it.
We ordered wine and an appetizer, and it was great. We didn’t get any table bread like every other table around us, sadly.
When our pasta dishes came out, I was severely disappointed. They looked absolutely nothing like the pictures on the website. We picked this place because I saw their pasta

I chose Volo because of the non-pasta dishes on the menu. Branzino is my favorite white fish so I had to try it. I was not disappointed. I also had the octopus and gelato. All were good. I would definitely go back and try the other entrees.

Tried Volo after passing it by many times. We started with the Bruchetta, yum. Then got the Chicken Milanese, which was SO good - highly recommend. And the Gnocchi which didn't have much taste so would pass on that next time. Only downfall was, we felt very rushed the entire time when it wasn't even busy and had plenty of open tables. They were taking plates away that weren't even finished yet - not sure the reasoning behind this but it made it a not so enjoyable experience.

The food and service was just amazing! It was incredible to find such great service during this time when restaurants are having difficulty finding help. Whatever Volo is doing, they are doing it right! From the moment we came in we felt good about the restaurant. they even upgraded our table (without a reservation) when they realized there was a better one available. Really? when does that ever happen?!?! The cocktails are excellent, as well as the food of course. We are always In search of good Italian, as it is our favorite, and you cannot go wrong here. I had been wanting to try this restaurant for months. They advertise half-price select bottles of wine on Wednesdays and half price antipasto on Thursdays on Instagram. I messaged them through Instagram before going to see if there were any restricted hours for the half-price antipasto on Thursday and they said no. When we arrived at the restaurant our waiter knew nothing about this special and asked us if we had a coupon or something. I told him about the Instagram post and he asked me to text him a copy of that. They allowed us to use the offer but I felt so unwelcome afterward. The food was

IMO, Volo is probably Charlotte's most underrated Italian restaurant. It's definitely a better option than more popular choices like Stagioni, Mama Ricotta's, etc. The food at Volo is simply at a higher level. Pleasant, friendly ambiance and professionalism of the wait staff seal the deal. See for yourself.

Incredible food and great atmosphere! We usually get take out but decided to eat outside with our toddler just to get out of the house. We're obsessed with the Veal Pappardelle and the Spaghetti ala Norma, but everything on the menu is good. Even my toddler cleans his plate here. The people who work here are super kind and always make you feel welcome. Great experience and we're going to start making it a weekly occurance.

Simply Fantastic! The quality of the ingredients was top notch, from the olive oil, the pasta (homemade) and the bread to die for! The chef was so generous and let us try the carpaccio which also was amazing! Also the desserts were perfect. Not too sweet and just the right size. The server Paolo was a sweetheart and we were excited to come support this place after such a long pause from Covid. I can't wait to go back! Ero molto buono!

Walking in, I was greeted by a lovely host who had a coat check and was quick to seat us.
Environment: Absolutely gorgeous interior. Love the lighting fixtures, the chic feel and the entire layout of the restaurant. Volo is a lively, bustling place that feels so cozy and welcoming. They also have a nice, sleek bar that really compliments the room.

Wish I could rate this place higher but honestly I can't. I was so disappointed in the service and food here. I've been so excited about the recent boom with Italian restaurants here and this place really disappointed.
We made reservations for opening week and arrived at lovely restaurant with very open seating. The hostess was gracious and sat us all the way in the back. The was first red flag that this night may not go as well as planned.

The food took a while to reach the table with no check ins from the service staff on do you need more bread or cocktail or wine refill.
We waited for an hour to get our entree with an app in between that.
We had the flight meals - meat & seafood. The food was good but not great. Octopus was very chewy and tough (needs to be sous vied). Scallops were luke warm, ink pasta was delish. The meatballs were good but nothing outstanding
