If you have ever been a victim of a crime in the USA or if an immediate family member has ever been a victim of crime in the USA, you may qualify for a U visa. Only certain crimes against you or your immediate family member will qualify you or your family member for this visa. Some examples are domestic violence, sexual abuse, felony assault, kidnapping, unlawful restraint, human trafficking and others.
Courts & Appeals
Report
The Ninth Circuit US Court of Appeals (this court decides cases coming out of Oregon, Washington, California, Arizona, Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada & Montana). The EOIR has many immigration courts throughout the country. We typically see cases in deportation proceedings stemming from recent requests for asylum at the border, an application denial at USCIS (immigration) or a client who has committed a crime.
Citizenship/Naturalization
Report
There are several ways to gain citizenship in the United States of America: by birth, deriving citizenship through certain family members, or applying for US citizenship after becoming a legal permanent resident. Legal Permanent Residents may apply for United States Citizenship after a certain period of time.
