Each qualified retirement plan needs a separate Qualified Domestic Relations Order, although in some cases we can equalize more than one plan with one QDRO. If you'd like us to review another preparer's QDRO, this service includes a written report with our opinions. Some IRA custodians require a transfer and acceptance letter in order to effectuate a transfer between ex-spouses.

Change beneficiary designations on IRA accounts, employer sponsored retirement plans and life insurance contracts. Update your estate plan: (Wills, Durable Powers of Attorney and Trust documents (remember to re-title assets that were owned by the original Trust)). Review and update your financial plan, keeping in mind that investment objectives, retirement dates, and cash flow issues have likely changed since the divorce.
