Founded by Boonkheng and Keosavanah Xayarath, our family-owned business combines over 50 years of culinary expertise with a commitment to quality that began in Laos and Vietnam. With over 50 years of culinary experience, Boonkheng oversees all food preparation at InterAsian Market. She learned traditional Vietnamese and Thai cooking techniques as a child in Laos and continues perfecting recipes that have been served since her family's 1979 arrival in Nashville. Her banh mi ingredients are made entirely from scratch daily.
Keosavanah Xayarath
Co-Founder
Co-founder Keosavanah Xayarath, known as 'Joy' to customers, established the market in 1994 with his wife. A Laotian immigrant who arrived in Nashville in 1979, he oversees business operations while maintaining personal connections with suppliers and customers. He and Boonkheng became U.S. citizens in 1987.
Somboon Wu
Operations Manager
Third-generation team member Somboon Wu manages daily operations with 20+ years of retail experience. After graduating from the University of Tennessee with an architecture degree, he chose to run the family business. He ensures the market maintains its founding standards while adapting to modern retail demands.

We stopped in for some things and left with bags full of the freshest produce, snacks, and the best Banh Mi of our lives. We had such friendly service and the store was clean and organized. We will be back!

I absolutely love this place. The Bahn Mi is really good and the bread is delicious, albeit the double meat has very little meat. The crispy pork belly is my favorite. You can always find some good veggies too.

Was happy to see they had a great selection of Asian ingredients as well as Thai tea. I have not tried the Deli but will definitely be back.

I love this place and the prices are great for the value. The employees are nice and the store is organized so you arent running around trying to find one thing. Its a really good store to shop at if youre looking for something that isnt extremely busy and they have (or made) a makeshift food bar to get fresh buns but from the times Ive went its always been shut down and I think that was due to covid. Nevertheless I want to go back when they open it up and grab a few things to try, ive never tried any of their fresh foods but all of the other supplies such as herbs and sauces

In an increasingly expensive city with more and more dining options, this remains a killer sandwich for less than 5 bucks. The staff are very friendly here and it is a family-run business which is always nice to see. Just stop at the register and order your banh mi, the cashier will radio a lady in the back, and then you have a few minutes to look around at all the fun groceries while your sandwich is prepared fresh!

It was clean & large with lots of options. I was able to find everything on my list but 1. Canned/bottled and fresh produce. We also got the freshly made sandwiches for our family's dinner. Yum!! The veggie tofu & the double meat were our favorites. Getting them on our next visit.
