We began as a single coffeehouse in 1991, roasting coffee by the front door to serve our customers. Creating an immersive coffee culture and building a sense of community is how we started our journey in coffee, and what continues to drive us today. Our mission is to foster a community with great coffee - a community of farmers, millers, roasters, coffee professionals and coffee drinkers.

Our sustainability practices focus on meeting today's needs without compromising our ability to meet the needs of the future. In doing so, we focus on three pillars of sustainability: environmental, social, and economic. We partnered with Oxfam International on gender justice and gender equity initiatives, presenting those findings at The Specialty Coffee Association International Expo.

We support non-profit and community organizations that share our values of inclusivity and sustainability. Here are a few of our community partners. Founded in 2010 by celebrity chef Jos Andrs, World Community Kitchen aims to be a first responder and then collaborator on solutions with local chefs to solve the problem of hunger immediately following a disaster.
