Today, many of them still want to learn to swim, but their fear of the water holds them back. What was missing in their swim lessons the first time? And do they know they're afraid? Students who are comfortable in deep water know something that afraid students don't know. The information that makes students universally successful if they're afraid is not part of the traditional teaching system.

That safety in deep water requires two things: being in control in deep water and understanding how the water works. Neither was to be found in your previous lessons. At Miracle Swimming we established what we believe is the most efficient system in the world to teach an afraid adult to swim. An instructor who cannot consistently teach terrified adults to overcome their fear of deep water is unqualified to teach adults.

There has to be at least one place in the world where you can go from terror in shallow water to joy in deep water, even doing triathlons, SCUBA diving peacefully, and playing in the pool and ocean with the grand kids. Our Beginning Course, now called Essentials, contains new lessons that qualified swim instructors will one day teach to the tens of millions of adults who are fearful in shallow or deep water. Learn the essential information missing from most swim lessons you have taken previously. If you knew the essentials, you'd be happy in deep water today.

After you can rest peacefully in water over your head, you may want to become nimble in the water. To be eligible, you must be peaceful in the middle of deep water in a pool for at least 10 minutes and a graduate of our Beginning course. Most likely you'll also be a graduate of the Next Step course.
