Dr. Lewis completed a Ph. D. in Clinical Psychology at George Mason University and has worked in outpatient and inpatient treatment settings. Early in his career, he joined the Psychology Department of the Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center, a forensic psychiatric institute in Jessup, Maryland.
While there he conducted court-ordered evaluations of competence to stand trial and criminal responsibility/sanity, as well as post-trial evaluations of violence and sexual violence risk.Dr. Lewis relocated to California and established his independent practice in 2008. In addition to his treatment and forensic activities, he conducts assessments police officer suitability and fitness for duty.
