Cantera started it's journey in 2013 at a wonderful barn facility sitting on top of Prune Hill in Camas and while we were sad to see it get absorbed into a residential development, we have been blessed with friends and parents who believe in our Vision. Cantera Equestrian uses horses to create a learning environment for all ages allowing for safe interaction between humans and equines.

Cantera welcomes all horse lovers of ages and offers encouraging instruction from first encounters through competitions and horse ownership. Cantera offers middle and high school show teams. Cantera offers an environment where lasting, lifelong friendships are formed through the mutual love of horse.

About Us
Report
Kelly, Julie and Ann share a passion for horses, the equine industry, leadership for children and adults, and a desire to have solid riding instruction taught. All three recognized the difference horses make in people's lives. They wanted to develop a place that has a community atmosphere, teaches solid horsemanship skills, develops good riders, and through the vehicle of horses develops good people.

Riding Lessons
Report
Cantera Equestrian is proud to develop well rounded equestrians. We believe it is important for our riders to learn about horse management and ground manners in addition to developing their skills while on their horse. We offer classes in Hunter/Jumper, and equitation. Riders of all levels and riding background are welcome to join our lesson program.
Lesson Policies
Report
We expect you to arrive 20 to 30 minutes prior to the start of your lesson so that you can groom and tack up your lesson horse as well as to take care of any administrative tasks such as scheduling or paying for monthly lesson sessions. Showing up with less than 15 minutes before your lesson is scheduled to begin can result in forfeiting the lesson, horsemanship is an extremely important aspect of riding and prep time for your lesson in key.
