Umbiance Center For The Performing Arts

Umbiance Center for the Performing Arts hopes to "Cultivate the Community through the Arts". Our goal is to help heal, build and inspire the community through various art forms. Artistic Director, Khalia Harris believes that the arts are essential to human growth. The arts feed the imagination, broaden our perspectives, deepen our understanding of the human condition, and help us express what words can fail to articulate.

Designed to serve the needs of the very serious student, 8 to 21 years old, who is seeking to expand their dance vocabulary and dramatically improve their technique. Your child may have a disability, but they also have unlimited creativity! At Umbiance Center for the Performing Arts, we believe in creating a loving and caring environment where all students can thrive regardless of their abilities or disabilities.

Unless stated otherwise HAIR should be pulled into a bun or ponytail! Small ear studs are the only acceptable jewelry. Our Dress Code is Mandatory for all ages. Your dancer will not be able to participate if they are not dressed with the right attire! Although we encourage students to express themselves, it is important for students to abide by a dress code.

We are proud to award full and partial scholarships to students k-12 who exhibit financial need, has a disability, technical and artistic potential, or has strong desire to dance. LEAP's non-profit mission to make training and performance programs of the highest artistic caliber available to young people of all ages, backgrounds, and means.

Dancing is a performing art and the performance is the highlight of a dancer's experience, something for them to look forward to and to strive for. It helps the children develop retention skills, and by working with their classmates on a group performance, they learn the positive aspects of working as a team to create the best end result.
