I've had the pleasure of being a patient of Johanna Koenig's since 2019. She has truly changed my life and has helped me become the happiest and most content version of myself. I have overcome so much working with Johanna. It is actually astonishing to look back and see how far I have come in terms of coping with my anxiety and childhood trauma. She has taught me many different coping mechanisms that I use daily. Some things that I have implemented into my life are CBT journaling, inner-child work and grounding techniques. She is very client-centered in her practice, and lets you take charge in

During the 2020-2021 school year, I had the privilege of interning at Kentlands Psychotherapy. Throughout my internship, I gained extensive knowledge and experience through therapy simulations, as well as a multitude of projects. Due to Covid-19, my internship was primarily online. Dr. Carr, however, ensured that I had all of the tools necessary to succeed and make advancements in my understanding of a therapeutic approach that places clients first. As I am in my first semester of Graduate School, I can proudly say that this internship has prepared me to have a greater understanding of the topics

Johanna Koenig, LCSW-C is a great clinician with a large skill set to help teens and adults dealing with mental health concerns. As her colleague, I am often looking to Johanna for consultation, referring to her, or speaking about therapy trainings she has participated in. Johanna has a good rapport with clients and I know that they benefit from the work with her. I am so comfortable referring clients to Johanna!

During the 2020-2021 academic school year, I interned at Kentlands Psychotherapy during my senior year. This year, the internship was completely virtual but that didn't take away from the learning opportunities. Over the course of a year, I learnt how to run a client centered therapy session, write articles in a Q & A format for the Kentlands newsletter as well as revise/correct the websites bot.
What makes this internship so unique is that you not only learn about therapy, but also have a chance to work with technology and practice writing. I would completely recommend this internship opportunity

I had a terrific experience working with Kentlands Psychotherapy through a virtual internship this summer. I developed skills I will take with me into graduate school and my future career as a mental health professional including client-centered therapy skills, synthesizing research and collaborative writing. Dr. Carr offered unconditional support and guidance for my growth as an intern and as an individual. I was also able to connect with other therapists in the practice whose interests align with mine. I am very grateful for this opportunity!
