Mike grew up in south Overland Park, Kansas, and graduated from Blue Valley High School. He studied mechanical engineering at Kansas State University. While attending K-State, he was presented with the opportunity to run with the possibility to own Medallion by his father, prosthodontist Dr. Jon Finley.
