Hester's Log & Lumber opened in 1987 with humble hearts, one saw, and no office. Kent & Cindy Hester, owners of the sawmill at the time, worked hard to grow and diversify Hester's lumber products as customer demand grew. They worked through the recession, which hit their business hard, as people stopped building new homes, but they never lost hope, and thankfully, were able to keep all employees staffed year round and full time.

Hester's is a full-service lumber mill and can deliver your products to your project site. Because the Town of Breckenridge does not recognize the State's beetle-kill lumber sales tax exemption under its Home Rule law, delivery within the town limits of Breckenridge is not available. Grading is available for log, beams, & Colorado timber brought to our mill at an additional charge.

We specialize in locally harvested timber products, including lodgepole (aka "beetle kill" and "blue stain") pine, Engleman spruce, douglas fir, and aspen. We are also one of the last circle saw mills operating in the United States. Our rough lumber is coveted for both interior an exterior projects because the circle saw marks are reminiscent of reclaimed wood.

HOURS: Mon thru Friday 7:00 to 4:30, Saturday by appointment only - call ahead - Most material by order only. We typically cut 1x4,1x6, 1x8 and 2x4, 2x6, 2x8 throughout the day. Please call to check availability of products before you pick up to ensure we have what you need in stock. If you need a large quantity of specific pieces (more than 30 pieces), that most likely requires a custom order.
