I was inspired to become an acupuncturist by an experience I can only describe as a calling. At the time, I had no intention of seeking a career in Chinese Medicine and the thought of going back to school and tackling a Masters was dawnting. However, as you often hear "when all doors close and only one door is open, " was my experience.
It was an overwhelming knowing that this is where I belonged and I have never looked back. I completed a Masters program in Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 1996 followed by a two year residency in Womens Medicine. I have been in private practice for over twenty years and love what I do.

Acupuncture is a part of one of the oldest written forms of medicine. Before we had a name for the nervous system, ancient acupuncture practitioners had identified it, mapped its major nerve pathways and nerve bundles and developed an elegant system of medicine that worked by discovering how to use our body's nervous system to heal itself.
