Our 700-acre campuses on Lake Plantagenet provide a safe, nurturing environment where campers develop independence, build lifelong friendships, and explore over 30 activities ranging from wilderness expeditions to creative arts. With a legacy of fostering personal growth through structured choice and expert guidance, our programs combine tradition with modern adventure opportunities across North America. Our experienced staff prioritizes safety while empowering campers to challenge themselves through rock climbing, canoeing, leadership development, and immersive nature experiences.

For three generations, families have returned to our single-gender camps that mirror each other's programming, creating shared yet distinct experiences for siblings. Beautiful setting, compassionate people and a place to truly be yourself. Rustic, but that makes you appreciate it more. Enjoy the loon call, eagles and chipmunks. Happy to return anytime (except I expect the winter is pretty different!)

The staff can be quite rude and the entire area is often filled with pests like ticks as well as leeches in the only swim area. Most cabins have no air conditioning.

I went to camp Thunderbird ever summer from age 8 until I was in my 20s. I started as a camper and then became a counselor and then the sailing specialist. My best memories were at this camp. I attribute many of my best traits to spending my summers here.
