Gallery 12

Gallery 12 is Wichita's first cooperative gallery, established in September 1977 by twelve visionary artists. Originally located at 2903 E. Douglas, we relocated to our current address at 412 E. Douglas in 1987. As a not-for-profit corporation, our gallery operates under a unique model where all members serve on the Board of Directors, equally participating in decision-making and gallery operations. Our mission focuses on creating opportunities for artists to exhibit and sell their work while fostering creative growth and promoting visual arts across Wichita and Kansas. We actively engage in community initiatives through partnerships with organizations like Art Aid, YWCA Women Crisis Center, Mark Arts, and Wichita Art Museum.

Our members contribute time and artworks to charitable causes while maintaining gallery operations through shared responsibilities. We showcase diverse artistic media including paintings, printmaking, digital art, mixed media, photography, sculpture, ceramics, and jewelry. Our exhibitions span multiple styles from realism to contemporary works, reflecting the creative diversity of our member artists. Through annual events like the 12 Squared open exhibition, we provide platforms for both established and emerging artists. Our Artwork Leasing Program offers businesses access to rotating collections of original art, supporting local artists while enhancing corporate environments.
