80W is a sophisticated lounge catering to an upscale but, by no means, stuffy, clientele. Conveniently located just off of East Avenue in downtown Rochester, the club is intended to fill an untapped need in our community- that of a high-end establishment, promoting conversation, located in a beautiful environment.
Guests settle into and relax in a space meant to evoke a comfortable and inviting living room- overstuffed chairs, a distressed leather sofa, rich Oriental carpets, elegant light fixtures, and a gorgeous cherry wood bar- all dimly lit and punctuated with candlelight. A hip, cosmopolitan soundtrack enhances the mood.

One of our favorite date night spots. Love the bar, outside patio and lounge areas. You can't go wrong anyplace you decide to sit. The owners are amazing. Always working hard but take the time to stop and say hi and ask how everything is going. Also one of the few local places that you can hear the band The Swooners (love them).

I've been to 80W a few times and have really enjoyed it. They have live music, so it can get a bit loud, but I love the atmosphere. The food is delicious. I went with my boyfriend and his family, and we basically ordered everything off of the menu. The beef Wellington's were particularly good. I'm a big fan of bread, and their bread plate may have been my favorite thing I had that night. It was perfectly toasted with an amazing butter. The meatball subs were also pretty great. My boyfriend and his family loved everything they got. The only downside was that it wasn't that crowded

Went here on a Friday night and it was packed. I assumed the food and drinks must be pretty good - I was wrong, unfortunately. The first red flag was speaking to three different people in order to finally secure a table, despite making a reservation ahead of time. The staff looked frazzled. The manager (a very kind and accomodating guy) finally seated us.
Ordered some duck and something or other nachos, they arrived lukewarm and with... blueberries on them? Bizarre flavor combination, frankly, and I'm a very adventurous eater. I mentioned the state of them to the manager (owner?), and he

We all know how predictable the Rochester Restaurant scene can be, menus of established staples that remain the same and safe for 20 years; Shrimp Alexander, the endless "French" dishes that are iconic to our region, Farroe Island Salmon, an endless need for burgers too large to eat comfortably. Loud bars that still smell like frat houses under the heavily perfumed clientele, no matter their social class, endless pints of IPAs and Genny Light specials.
80W has none of this. Mark Siwieck and Company have once again established how his their fine attention to detail put them on a plateau

Very nice cocktail bar with good shareable food.
Off of Lawrence street, parking very close in big lot down street. Extremely easy to make reservations in the website. Took me 30 seconds literally.
Good ambiance for an after work kind of bar. Open and airy, but it did get loud. Seems like a slightly older crowd at the bar.
Waiter was full of energy and engaging. Definitely worked hard - seemed like he was trying to pick up the energy level and for the most part he did great.
Cocktails were well made. Good selection of specialty cocktails. Very decorative. Prices were what I expected, roughly

First time in 80W last night, I haven't been there since my feet stuck to the floor in the good ol' pig n whistle! And I have to say- as much as I miss turning into Cinderella missing at least one shoe by the end of the night, I absolutely loved this place. The aesthetic had me before I even walked inside. I love that this little alley way is getting out of the trap house and growing up with sophistication. The vibe was perfect for a work happy hour but I could also see it being perfect for date night, or a night out with friends/family. The food made you step out of your comfort level

We came in for a light meal and to enjoy the outdoor seating while the summer weather is still cooperating. Great wine selection, and we noshed on the warm marinated olives - this is a MUST! I never realized how much better olives are when they are warmed up, sitting in a lovely herbed olive oil with these adorable mini rolls for dipping.
Moved on to the crab over a green gazpacho that was spot on. Lots of cucumber taste but with little hints of jalapeƱo. Not too spicy, and the cool gazpacho was perfect for summer.
Shared the peach and burrata salad next and it was just the right combination

Stopped into 80W for some end of the night drinks last night, and was SO impressed by the staff, ambiance, and quality of the cocktails. It is a more upscale spot with beautiful furniture and a setup consistent with large group socializing.
Tristan was our bartender for the evening and took great care of us throughout our visit. Quick with a recommendation and attentive as heck, he added to our experience in a major way. I can't wait to get back and try some of the food items. Our neighbors to the left got the gnocchi and it looked absolutely incredible.
I'm really looking forward

80W was such a great experience from the moment we walked in the door. We had a 7pm reservation and were seated right away by a very friendly gentleman who we later found out was an owner. It's a relatively small space with a very large bar. It was warm, classy, and beautifully decorated.
Our waiter for the night was Vin who was just fantastic. Outgoing and knowledgeable about all things 80W. We ordered our drinks and the prosciutto wrapped dates (we were starving). The menu is mostly shareable plates. It had a few full plate options but we were happy with the shareables. Vin kept our service

We had an enjoyable experience on a busy Saturday night. Although it was quite packed, the service was still good. The ambiance was enjoyable--even though it was a busy bar, we still felt like we were in a fancy restaurant. I got an Agave Apiary to start with, which was a nice balance of flavors--nothing extraordinary, but easy to drink. My friend got the El Diablo, which I liked a bit better.
The 3 of us weren't particularly hungry so we got apps to share: the market priced cheese plate (Fromagerie) and the Lobster shooters. The cheese plate was fairly priced and came with a good assortment

Visited here with some friends last night. Space felt very nice, modern, and a bit posh. Coats were checked and we were seated.
We ordered:
Drinks, Curly Like You & Blinker
Food:
Bacon wrapped dates- delicious, loved the goat cheese
Rosemarys Baby- basically fancy Chex mix, but it was fantastic
Sliders- solid
Ambiance:
This is tough, I feel like they are going for a retro ultra lounge feel, I enjoyed the decor. The music was a bit young and loud, I think I might choose trance or something a little more chill.
Fun evening.

This place reminds me of a country club, but with all of the pros and none of the pretentiousness. The bar tenders were crazy friendly, making introductions and shaking hands and (most importantly) remembering our names. The manager even walked by at one point (even though we were seated at the bar) to check on us.
The decor is even reminiscent of what would have been the gentlemen's room, where women weren't allowed at one point. It's very cozy, very Old-World-Library with tons of leather, book shelves, wooden tables, and divided spaces for good conversation. There were a few

The menu looked fantastic online. The food delivered. I think a few kinks are being worked out but I'd definitely return and recommend a visit. The tomatoes and egg bowl was fabulous, a better (the best) version of shakshuka. We had the avocado and strawberry toast. The toast was substantial and the strawberry added a nice sweet acid. We also had the brussel sprouts with mustard which were so lightly and crispily breaded, perfectly cooked inside delicious bites. I look forward to visiting again.

It's my job to visit new joints in town :-) so following that we visited W80 on an impulse on Sunday afternoon. They are open until 10 pm on Sunday. I'm happy to see that. They are on Lawrence st and it can be a little confusing to find them. I would suggest better signage on front of the building. We got here to get drinks. They are opened for about two and half weeks now. So absolutely brand new. They have beautiful furnishings, very laid back vibe. First time in a long time, I actually enjoyed the music in a restaurant/ lounge. So A+ on that.

Tonight was opening night and let me tell you, it's the new place to be! I loved the relaxed vibes, and how it just felt like you could share some food and drinks with your friends and talk the night away. Gap Mangione was playing the piano and really made the whole place feel like a classier version of my living room- with better food!
Karen, the head chef, does some magic back there in the kitchen. The menu is deceivingly simple with things like lobster shooters, stuffed avocado, bolognese sauced pasta, but what you get is far from simple! The flavors are complex and balanced, textures
