For over 65 years, Lafayette Nursery School has served the Lamorinda area as a premier parent participation school. Through the combined work of our community, parents, and staff, we encourage children to learn through exploration and play. Lafayette Nursery School values diversity. All interested families, from all backgrounds, are encouraged to enroll in our school.
2s Class
Report
In the 2s class, the goal is to help students develop confidence being away from home for the first time. In a small class, young children can explore and experience new activities while developing friendships and building their vocabulary and communication skills. For parents of our 2s students, participation in the classroom is required 2 to 3 times per month.
Community
Report
Since 1954, Lafayette Nursery School parents and staff have worked together to provide the best experience possible for our children. Parents get to know each other working side-by-side in the classroom thereby creating lasting bonds that can't be replicated at a drop-off preschool. Our school calendar is filled with social events ranging from family picnics, parent socials, our annual auction, and mom's and dad's nights out.

Participation
Report
In-class participation by parents is essential to the success of Lafayette Nursery School. Membership in a parent participation nursery school is a family experience. We enter this experience with shared responsibilities to work toward mutual goals. A parent from each family must assist in the classroom, known as co-oping, multiple times per month.
