
The Center for Arkansas Legal Services (CALS) is a nonprofit law firm founded in 1965 that provides free civil (non-criminal) legal services to low-income Arkansans. CALS is headquartered in Little Rock and serves 44 counties (geographically 60% of the state) of the 75 counties in Arkansas. To defend the legal rights and work for systemic solutions to balance the scales of justice for low-income people and communities.

The Arkansas Governor's Office estimated over 857 homes sustained major damage.

For over fifty-five years, CALS has advocated for low-income Arkansans, protecting their rights to remain in stable housing, ensuring they are receiving the financial and medical benefits they are qualified to receive, and helping their families stay safe and together when possible.

The need for pro bono legal services has never been greater. As Arkansas' poverty population grows, so does the need for representation of their interests. About 17.2% of Arkansas citizens live at or below the poverty level, compared to 11.8% nationwide. In the Delta area, fully 25% of the population lives in poverty.

The Center for Arkansas Legal Services (CALS) is seeking a full-time Administrative Support Specialist/Paralegal to work with the Beyond Opioids Program. The Administrative Support Specialist/Paralegal will assist in the provision of high-quality legal assistance to low-income persons through the completion of legal secretary and paralegal tasks and will perform duties as requested to further the goals of the project.
