Canton Equestrian Center

Owned by the Hughes', Canton Equestrian Center has been a landmark in Canton for over 65 years. We take pride in our family history and provide a safe, friendly and professional atmosphere for riders of all skill sets and goals. Established in 1953 by Steve and Alberta Hughes, Canton Equestrian Center was originally called Lazy S' Stock Farm.

Riders age 6 and older are invited to join us for mounted instruction in basic riding skills at the walk, trot, and canter as well as jumping. Safety and overall good horsemanship are priorities with our instructors. Grooming and tacking up skills are also incorporated as part of the lessons.

Our lesson horses have been selected for their exceptionally good manners, smooth gaits, and forgiving temperaments which make them appropriate for novice riders.Our instructors are professionals that have years of experience growing students of all ages from beginner to advanced levels. A. We do not offer trail rides. Our goal is to ensure a safe and productive environment for our students by offering lessons in riding arenas only. A. We accept checks made payable to Canton Equestrian Center, Cash, or Online Bank Transfer. We do not accept credit or debit cards. A. All new riders at CEC are required to take private lessons to ensure a safe and productive lesson.
