Wilkins Lumber is a small, family-owned lumber mill located in Milford, New Hampshire. We have been providing native wood products to the Souhegan Valley since 1808. Our mill carries a rich and storied history and has survived the Great Depression, a fire and being struck by lightning in the first half of the 1900s.
We owe our long term success to dedication, perseverance and hard work; continuing to provide lumber to Southern New Hampshire into the 21st Century. We offer log-to-lumber service, beginning with selective harvesting for local timberland owners. Most of the lumber we produce is hemlock and pine, price list is here.

History
Report
In 1808 E. L. Hartshorn and his relatives and neighbors started a sawmill on what is now known as Hartshorn Brook, which was powered by the dammed-up water of the brook. Hartshorn turned the sawmill and his farm over to his son, Jotham Hartshorn, who operated the mill during the seasons which didn't require much farming activity.

We can't compete with big box building supply stores, and we don't try. We don't have nails, or insulation, or paint. What we do have is high quality softwood lumber, all milled from trees harvested within about 30 miles of Milford. Because we're small, we can often cut just what you need, whether it be joists, beams, siding or floorboards.
