Swim With Phyn
Swim With Phyn focuses on teaching babies and young children to swim by "learning through play", playing games, completing challenges and bonding with caregivers - all with the purpose of learning a life-saving skill. At Swim With Phyn, we believe that children learn best when they are taught with love and encouragement, and when they make choices in the learning process.

What makes Swim With Phyn different? Julie "Phyn" Smith has over 20 years of swim instruction experience. She has specially developed curriculum for babies and young children. Infants as young as 2 weeks are able to build on natural instincts, continue to hold their breath under water, and learn how to float on their backs.

If you are on a waitlist, you should not show up for the first class. It means you are waiting for someone in that class to drop or switch classes. We have up to ten students on the waitlist, for any class, at any given time. If there is another class that works for you, you MAY sign up for it and remain on another waitlist.
Instructors
Report
Swim with Phyn earned its name in 1995 when Julie was working at a summer camp teaching rock climbing. The camp used nicknames for all staff - Julie became "Phyn", short for dolphin but with a better spelling! You can just call her Julie, though! Swim With Phyn recently changed pools and moved to Laguna Hills, but was operating as Swim With Phyn in Goleta, CA (Santa Barbara) for 10 years.

You'll get everything you need to know and more! Email us at info@swimwithphyn.com and let us know what class level you want to visit and we will set that up! The best part? You get to see the facilities AND meet the instructor! The pool is indoor and kept at, or very near, 92 degrees.

This makes it more comfortable and also more fun on rainy days and in the evenings, it also has the added benefit of complete UV protection - no sunscreen needed during lessons! The chlorine level is kept as low as possible, monitored and adjusted multiple times per day, to make it easier on little eyes.
