I am grateful for the diversity of the teachers at BBY. One thing always remains constant, no matter the type of yoga, is the dedication and wonderful spirit of all the teachers. I have learned new things from every teacher I have been with! So many great choices for what my body and spirit need. Yoga gives me peace, patience and has improved my health!

We all have our own body movement abilities and limitations. This staff understands that and consistently assists each participant in positioning and modification of techniques for optimum comfort, performance and progress. Our Yoga Studios and Salt Cave are nestled in the heart of East Memphis on Brookhaven Circle.

Better Bodies' luxurious Himalayan salt room and beds are as tranquil as they are therapeutic. During your 45-minute session, the soothing atmosphere will envelop you while the salty air will administer its natural healing with each deep, cleansing breath. Salt is naturally anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal, and has been used for thousands of years to keep people healthy from the inside out.

Established in 2004 by owner Karen Moss, our mission is giving the gift of yoga to anyone who desires to incorporate practice into their life. Better Bodies specializes in Hatha Yoga and therapeutic yoga for injuries and sport-specific needs, practiced in a calm, non-judgmental, invigorating, nourishing, and inspiring atmosphere.

Hatha Yoga is the yoga tradition most familiar to Western culture, and the tradition we follow at Better Bodies Yoga. The term is derived from the Sanskrit ha, meaning "sun, " and tha, meaning "moon, " which together means to "yoke or yuj." The practice aims to unite the active and receptive qualities within oneself, creating a balance of equilibrium in oneself and with others through the use of physical alignment and yoga breathing.

Our certified yoga teachers are ready to accommodate you at any stage in your yoga journey. Inspired by their own training, experience and interests, our teachers perceive their students as whole individuals, celebrating your differences and addressing your challenges.

Our teachers combine their knowledge and energy with a combination of tools such as yoga props, pranayama, meditation and heat to guide our students in achieving mental, physical and spiritual growth and balance.All instructors are 200-hour and above YA (Yoga Alliance) certified who teach with attention to alignment and safety.
