My name is Gordon Tibbits and I offer lessons on guitar, bass, and ukulele to kids, teens, and adults. My lesson studio is conveniently located a mile north of Seattle Hill Road near the communities of Everett, Silver Lake, Mill Creek, Snohomish, and Bothell. I currently offer online lessons through zoom.

If you are new to the guitar, bass, or ukulele you have come to the right place! I enjoy working with beginning students who have little or no previous experience. My approach to teaching is student focused and informed by 35 years of experience as a long-time music educator and musician.

At Friendly Frets, Gordon offers lessons on acoustic guitar, electric guitar, electric bass, and ukulele. Most of his students are beginners and have never played a fretted instrument before. Helping beginning students is one of Gordon's specialties and area of interest. Gordon also helps intermediate and advanced level students as well.

Electric Bass

I enjoy the process of helping beginning level students develop the necessary skills on the electric bass so they can play in a band. Some of my students have started learning guitar first and then transitioned to the bass. Others have started lessons as beginners with no prior musical experience.

Ukulele

Report

The ukulele is a very user-friendly instrument due to it's smaller size, simple configuration, and ease of playing. It's not uncommon for students to be able to play simple melodies or complete songs after a few lessons. I have also found that the Ukulele is an excellent instrument for students ages 5-8 who might struggle learning guitar due to strength or fine-motor limitations.
