Turning Point has been proudly serving the Longwood, FL community since 1996. With 29 years of dedicated experience, we specialize in ballet, pointe, lyrical, jazz, contemporary, tap, technique, musical theatre, hip hop, acro, and combo classes for dancers aged 2 through adult. Our studio features 18 professional instructors, 8 skill levels, and award-winning competition teams that have earned 22 national championships since 2018. We offer unlimited free trial classes, flexible registration options, and community sponsorship programs for local schools. Our 5,000 sq ft facility includes multiple studios and will expand to 6 studios in Fall 2025. Ballet
Our ballet program develops foundational technique through structured training in classical positions, barre work, and graceful movement patterns. Students progress through 8 skill levels while learning proper posture, alignment, and artistic expression. This discipline enhances overall dance ability while preparing students for advanced pointe work and performance opportunities.
Lyrical
Lyrical classes combine ballet technique with emotional storytelling through movement. Students learn to interpret music and convey narratives using fluid motions, leaps, and controlled turns. This style emphasizes musicality and artistic interpretation while maintaining technical precision across all skill levels.
Hip Hop
Our hip hop program teaches street dance styles including breaking, popping, and locking. Classes focus on rhythm, coordination, and personal style development through choreography that evolves with current music trends. Students build strength, agility, and confidence while learning age-appropriate routines in a dynamic group setting.
Acro
Acro classes develop flexibility, balance, and strength through technical dance movements combined with gymnastics elements. Students progress through skill levels mastering cartwheels, walkovers, and aerials while maintaining proper safety protocols and technique development.
Competition Team
The STARS Competition Team offers advanced training for serious dancers aged 3-18. With 75+ members annually, our award-winning teams participate in national events featuring choreography across multiple genres. The program includes convention attendance, regional competitions, and Disney Nationals preparation.

What dance styles do you offer for children?
We offer ballet, pointe, lyrical, jazz, contemporary, tap, hip hop, acro, and combo classes for children aged 2 through teen. All programs follow structured curriculums with skill-based progression.
Do you have competition dance teams?
Yes, our STARS Competition Team includes 75+ dancers aged 3-18 across 7 divisions. We compete nationally with multiple championship titles and participate in Disney Nationals annually.
What are your class schedules like?
Classes run Monday-Saturday with age-specific times. Tiny dance (2-3) starts at 3:45pm weekdays, preschool combo at 4pm, and advanced classes in evenings. Summer sessions offer additional weekday options.

What are your registration fees?
Registration costs $75 per dancer or $100 for families with multiple dancers. Fees include access to all scheduled classes and participation in recitals and performances.
Do you offer adult dance classes?
Yes, we provide adult tap classes and open-level technique sessions. Our facility also offers studio rentals for independent dance groups and special events.

We all appreciate everything you guys do. Every class. Every week. And beyond that. You are not just their dance teachers. Youre family. Friends. Confidants. Therapists. Someone they can talk to and be comfortable to be around when they cant tell us. Youre trusted figures in their lives and this year has shown that more than ever. I never worry because I know shes in amazing hands. I am so happy I made the choice to put my daughter in dance at this studio four years ago.

I danced here when I was younger, so when it was time to put our daughter into dance I knew right where we would go. From student to parent, I couldnt imagine putting her anywhere but here. Fantastic studio. The hard work from the teachers and dedication that goes into running this place is what makes it so wonderful. Amazing staff, amazing choreography, just overall satisfied with Turning Pointe.
