In 2004, Dr. Jernigan fulfilled his lifelong goal of opening his own orthodontic practice. The practice is located near the Lake Carolina community in NE Columbia. Dr. Jernigan's vision for his practice is to have a warm, comfortable atmosphere and to be available to his patients for high quality care.

We have a warm, friendly and energetic staff. We pride ourselves on completing numerous continuing education hours each year to stay on the cutting edge of new techniques in the field of orthodontics. In my spare time, I have fun spending time with my family, reading books, and going to North Myrtle Beach.
Financial & Insurance
Report
There are many different agreements between insurance carriers and their subscribers, and each contract provides a different benefit. However, orthodontic insurance generally differs from regular dental insurance in that each insured individual usually has a lifetime maximum benefit for orthodontic services.
Appointments
Report
Many appointments can be seen after school hours. However, all appointments cannot be seen after school. The placement or removal of braces, the placement of additional appliances and the repair of broken appliances are always accomplished in during non-peak, school hours. If you are running late, we will try to accommodate our late arrivals.
First Days in Braces
Report
The adhesive used for attaching the braces to your teeth cures rapidly initially, but takes 24-hours to completely cure. You can eat anytime after leaving our office. However, we ask that you be mindful of the suggested list of foods that may be harmful to the braces. Until you become accustomed to eating with your new braces, you may find it beneficial to follow a diet consisting of soft foods.
