Shining Stars Dance Academy was founded in 2016 under the direction of Heather Davis Delaney, building upon the legacy of the Margaret Pleau School of Dance. Our academy provides a fun, noncompetitive environment with small class sizes to ensure individualized attention and proper dance technique education. We relocated to a larger facility at 805 N Battlefield Blvd in Chesapeake, VA to accommodate our growing student base while maintaining our commitment to quality instruction.Our team of experienced instructors offers diverse performance opportunities including a Christmas parade and competition teams. We prioritize fostering a love for dance through family-oriented programming and welcome new students with free trial classes to explore their passion.

Dance Classes
We offer age-specific dance classes from 18 months to adult, focusing on proper technique and terminology. Our programs include Foundations Combo, Pre Dance, and Adult Dance. Small class sizes ensure personalized attention while developing fundamental skills.
Performance Teams
Our competition teams participate in local events throughout Hampton Roads. Acro and other genre teams require auditions. We provide specialized training and performance opportunities including Christmas parades and showcase events.
Summer Camps

Miss Theresa is AMAZING. She is very caring and puts her heart and soul into this studio. My daughter loves coming to her class every week. This is our second year with them and we couldn't be happier. Definitely recommend

My son is four and I was just looking for things to do this summer. I stumbled upon an ad on social media I believe, saw the Shining Stars dance academy was only $70 for seven classes of hip-hop/jazz. I figured since it was so inexpensive that we would try it out. Honestly because it was so inexpensive, I didn't have very high expectations. They absolutely blew me away though! Teresa is absolutely amazing , and has taught my son so much. They went above and beyond my expectations, and I am so glad we had the opportunity to take this class this summer.

We have been with the studio almost a year and we could not be more impressed with the quality of dance and the friendships our daughter has taken from SSDA. She is eager to see her instructors every week and has excelled so much in the course of a year. We are so thankful we have found such an amazing studio for her. It was everything we wanted for her and more.
