Our History
Report
In January of 1946, Bill and Lillian Johnson, aided by Bill's mother, Mary, opened the doors of Johnson's Bakery. Bill and Mary had baking experience, but Lillian had chosen a career as a teacher. To help her husband fulfill his dream, she agreed to learn cake decorating- and help him for two years.

As descendants of Finnish, Swedish and Norwegian immigrants, we have a definite Scandinavian influence in our choice of products. Our line has been expanded to include bread and pastries from other areas of the world.
Come to either of our stores to track down that Swedish Limpa rye or Finnish pulla (cardamom coffee cake) and then allow yourself to be enticed by delicious ciabatta or brioche breads - or cream puffs filled with real whipped cream or Grandma Johnson's cake donuts or attractive decorated cakes or summertime strawberry tortes and fall pumpkin pies - just too many things to mention. You must simply see for yourself!
