The Neighbors-West Neighborhood
The health and well-being of your loved ones is our top priority. Elder Guide will never give a provider a higher grade due to that provider paying us a commission. Most websites and advisors in the senior living space, can't make this promise because it hurts their bottom line. We will never compromise our values for profits.

People are simply too important. One way we deliver on this promise is by using a data-driven grading system. We use the same exact process for rating and reviewing nursing homes that do not pay placement fees, including many non-profit and government-owned facilities. If you are working with a senior living advisor, be sure to ask how they are paid and find out if their list of recommendations includes any facilities that don't pay commissions.

Mission
Report
With more than 10,000 baby boomers turning 65 every day and many of the oldest baby boomers nearing 75 years of age, the United States is experiencing a massive shift in demographics. Thanks to modern medicine and widespread vaccinations, Americans are also living longer than ever, with the number of Americans aged 85 or older projected to more than double over the next few decades from around 6.7 million today to more than 14 million in 2040.
Nursing Homes
Report
Choosing the right nursing home for your loved one is a daunting task. At Elder Guide, we try to streamline this process by giving you the tools necessary to begin your search. The best place to start when sizing up any nursing home is its overall grade. Ideally you want to target nursing homes that received an overall grade of B- or higher.
Assisted Living
Report
Assisted living is in many ways the midpoint between living at home and moving to a nursing home. Similar to independent living, most assisted living communities allow residents to live in their own apartment. The primary difference between independent living and assisted living lies in the scope of services provided by assisted living communities.
Senior Living
Report
Understanding the multitude of senior living options and knowing which option is right for you has become increasingly (and I would argue unnecessarily) complicated. There are countless different forms of senior living and several of them go by more than one name.

This is largely a result of facets of the senior living industry periodically trying to rebrand themselves, as well as various state legislatures and regulatory agencies inventing new names for senior living options that already had names. Many websites purporting to be experts on these topics unwittingly fall into this trap of presenting seniors with seemingly endless lists of names and options.
