The Childbloom Guitar program is a comprehensive musical education program for children ages 5 and up. It was developed in 1980 by Kevin Taylor, of Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. The Childbloom Guitar Method is currently being used by educators throughout the nation and is the largest program of its kind in the United States.
The Childbloom method of guitar instruction focuses on using playful, accessible songs and activities to help students develop confidence, motivation, and a love for music. Our curriculum and positive, low-pressure teaching environment is structured to give students fun learning experiences that are appropriate to their age and development level, while helping them develop good technique, expressive playing, and music reading skills.

With the Childbloom approach to lessons, your child will have fun learning the guitar. Our small group classes of two to four students gives participants the opportunity for camaraderie and ensemble interaction, while also receiving individual attention and developing solo playing skills.
The curriculum and teaching techniques we use have been developed over the last 35 years specifically for working with young students, with instructors that are trained and experienced with teaching directly to each student's development level.Parents are invited to be involved in the lessons and are given tools to be able to help with the learning process at home.

Q: What age should my child start guitar? A: We have found the most success working with kids who are 5 years old and up. We encourage parents to start kids with music as young as possible, but recommend waiting till your child has started kindergarten to begin learning guitar to help insure that they have developed the coordination and focus required to have a rewarding experience with lessons.
