Why choose an audiologist
Report
At Roseville Diagnostic Hearing Center, our patients and referring physicians can have the peace of mind that he/she is being tested by a licensed audiologist. In California, Audiologists are the only ones licensed to perform diagnostic hearing evaluations. Audiologists undergo extensive training and must hold a doctoral degree in audiology effective 2008 or master's degree in audiology (prior to 2008).
Aural Rehabilitation
Report
The first step with successful hearing aid use is the rehabilitation process. It involves more than purchasing hearing aids. The first time you wear hearing aids, you will hear new sounds that you have not heard in a while. You are learning to hear again. Your brain need to learn to process these sounds.
Custom Earmolds and Earplugs
Report
During this visit we make an ear impression of your ear if you choose to have custom ear protectors, swim plugs and/or musician monitors. Your audiologist will inspect your ear canals to ensure that it is free or debris/cerumen.
If your ear canals appear to be appropriate to proceed with the ear impression, your audiologist will insert a foam eardam in the ear canal in order to protect the tympanic membrane from getting in contact with the ear impression material.Once this is done, an impression material will be injected in the ear canal to fill the spaces.

Hearing Aid Repair and Cleaning
Report
Your hearing device(s) could stop working when cerumen blocks the sound openings or microphone and receiver ports. Tubing on custom earmolds can wear out and harden over time and needs replacement. If your hearing device(s) stopped working, it is important to come to the office to find out what is causing the device to stop operating.
