Friendly and helpful staff and management. Beautiful lake for boating. The boats are in good condition and run well, but the houseboats could use some remodeling and are showing some signs of use. Overall a good experience and off-season rates are great.

We make the trip to Smith Mountain Lake annually and reserve a couple wave runners/jet skis ahead of time. Never had any issue with picking them up or bringing them back.

What a beautiful lake!! We usually go to Kentucky, Lake Cumberland, and rent a houseboat for a week. We seen a sign about Smith Mountain Lake so we googled and seen they rented houseboats so we decided to give it a shot since it's so much closer. The boats are comfortably priced, and we used way less gas than we thought. We definitely can't wait to come back next summer. Thank You Parrot Cove for a great vacay.

For how much it cost, my family and I don't personally think it was worth it but you can still have a good time.
Pros: nice for all day water access, fun slide from the upper deck, the staff was nice, and no problems as far as the reservation goes
Cons: anchors were VERY heavy (only one of us was strong enough to pull up/throw out) with frayed rope and didn't really work at keeping the boat in place, there wasn't enough rope provided to tie off well to trees (instead of using the anchors), some of the amenities were somewhat broken, the beds were very uncomfortable

We rented a 39 foot houseboat and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I think that the rates are very reasonable. The folks who help you get in and out of the dock are great. We particularly had great experiences with Forrest, who both fixed our A/C (we ran it too low and it iced up) and got us un-stuck when we got lodged on a sunken tree. I feel like a houseboat rental is a great value for a vacation. We enjoyed our time on the lake. We enjoyed our time anchored in various coves for the night. We enjoyed swimming off of the boat. We enjoyed fishing and just hanging out. It's a great experience.

The pricing here for a pontoon boat is one of the best you'll find in Smith Mountain. The trade off for that price is boat speed. Our boat was SLOW. Ever other boat was passing us in the lake, including every other pontoon boat. The boat itself was clean and worked well but was a bit torn up and dented in places. Only other complaint was the horn and radio not working - supposed to be used to signal danger, etc. They said we had to use the whistle instead of the horn. We asked if we could just get a different boat and the woman replied "I think none of our boats have horns that work

Best family vacation. Booked 53' boat. Staff was great at check in. Young man TK that explained boat operation to us was awesome, very friendly and helpful. Was a fun adventure, found fun places to play, then places to camp for the night. Beautiful lake, amazing views. All around great time.
