Our Story
Report
We started camp over a decade ago in order to bring more kids and families into the sport of wake boarding. Every summer since then however, we see that our interaction reaches much further into these kids' lives than merely coaching in wake boarding and wake surfing. We want to deliver an experience, and build relationships at camp that will continue to affect each student every day of their lives even after they are back on land.
Summer Camps
Report
Our camp is an all inclusive 5 day summer Wakeboarding camp located just west of Yosemite, in Central California. Lake McClure offers first class riding conditions and consistent weather so you can focus on learning rather than dodging wind and rollers. Established in 2002 by Professional Rider Mike Schwenne, with the goal to offer a safe place for kids to have the time of their lives while learning to wakeboard.
Coaching
Report
There really is nothing like Wakeboarding in the world. It is one part walking on water and the other part flying. Learning new tricks on a wakeboard is sooo much fun. The story we hear over and over, year after year, from the discouraged wakeboarder is that "Wakeboarding hurts". Translation: "crashing hard on a wakeboard hurts."
Wake Surfing
Report
West Coast Camps is the longest running Wake Surfing camp established back in 2002. With slower speeds and softer falls, Wakesurfing has become an industry of its own over the past several years. The feeling of riding a wave without being attached to anything can 't quite be compared to anything else.
Fun
Report
At west coast camps you are never really off the water. We use the term "on the water" to describe our time both in and behind the wakeboard boats. We like to use the term "off the water" to describe everything else that goes on at camp. Since the beginning of camp in 2002 its been our goal to have our off the water experience be just as special as our on the water experience.
