Hudson Highlands Veterinary Medical Group's Beacon office is where it all began. Dr. John Whitefield started the practice in this location after graduating from Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine. Although the practice has grown over four decades to meet the demands of our client base, the "small town" feel of our Beacon office gives our doctors an opportunity to care for your pets in a very relaxed way.
We are committed to communicating with you, our client, at every phase of your pet's care. Along with caring for your pet's individualized needs, we strive to deliver the best service possible. In addition to General Practice services such as annual exams, vaccination, and sick appointments, we also offer veterinary supervised boarding, as well as nutritional and behavioral counseling.

Meet the Veterinarians & Team of Hudson Highlands Veterinary Medical Group in Beacon, NY! We're pleased to provide exceptional vet care for your pets! Amy and her husband have two children, a black lab, and a cat that was adopted from Hudson Highlands. Client Relations Coordinator Grace Gajdos joined Hudson Highlands in July of 2003 after having worked in the veterinary field for 5 years.

Your pet's regular wellness examination at our Beacon facility includes a complete and thorough physical, necessary and individualized vaccinations, laboratory tests, a fecal examination and deworming, heartworm test and medications recommended to prevent heartworm, fleas, and ticks.Most of the tests that we recommend for your pet can be done during your dog or cat's regular exam.

Veterinarian and hospital owner Dr. Twila A. Whitefield received her B.S. in Biology from Ursinus College in 1984 and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in 1987. She said she was inspired to become a veterinarian by "multiple family members", including her mother, a nurse, and her father, who loved nature and wildlife.

John Whitefield, the founder of Hudson Highlands who passed away in 2004, is still remembered fondly by staff and clients alike. We remember John as a dedicated veterinarian whose vision can be found in our mission statement: "To be passionately committed to practice the profession of Veterinary Medicine to the highest standard."
