The statement "Making Life's Moments Sweeter" really captures the essence of our purpose and vision for McLain's Bakery + Markets. Our family learned about the opportunity of acquiring McLain's in late December of 2013, and that's when the journey began. The McLain family had built a legacy over 60 years and felt like it would be a remarkable opportunity to continue that legacy.

Since our family took ownership of McLain's Bakery in 2014, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that the legacy of the bakery continues in the hearts of Kansas City families. McLain's Bakery opened just north of 75th Street on Wornall, in Waldo Missouri in 1945. For three generations the McLain family ran the bakery.

If you chose delivery, please provide the address you would like to have your order delivered to. Please note our pick-up/delivery times are between 8 am - 6 pm Monday - Friday and 8 am - 2 pm Saturday and Sunday. Looking for inspiration? We would love to cater or host your next event! From birthday parties, rehearsal dinners, or showers, we can create a delicious menu of appetizers, treats, drinks, and desserts. Our space is the perfect size for small get-togethers ranging from 15-80. The dining area lends itself to different configurations, including our garage door that opens up to our lovely patio.

McLain's Market Shawnee, located in the old iconic OK Garage, is modeled off its sister store in Overland Park. We are a local bakery, coffee shop, breakfast spot, lunch spot, and gathering space near you. As our business has grown, our family's commitment to being a gathering place for different neighborhoods around the Kansas City area has remained.
