Circuit Playhouse, Inc. which includes Playhouse on the Square, The Circuit Playhouse, and TheatreWorks@TheSquare is Memphis' largest professional theatre company and is celebrating over 50 years of bringing live theatre to the Mid South. Founded by Jackie Nichols, Playhouse on the Square began as a nomadic theatre troupe in the city known as The Circuit Players.
In 1969, the troupe incorporated and soon found home in Midtown Memphis. Many buildings have claimed home to the theatre over the years. But for the past 30 years, the theatre has been rooted at the corner of South Cooper Street and Union Avenue.

The 347-seat theatre allows for large flashy main stage productions, but is still intimate enough for small dramas and comedies as well. Come Find Your Place at Playhouse on the Square. For our Holiday Season, we're talking folks down "Show Row" to see Little Shop of Horrors, The Toymaker's Apprentice, and To All A Good Night: A Holiday Cabaret! As part of our holiday series, folks are able to pick up a Show Row Metro Pass to redeem a special holiday gift.
