Tsha' Honnonyendakwha (Where they play games) was built in 2001 for the people of the Onondaga Nation. The 2,000 seat arena serves as a home to the Onondaga Nation's lacrosse team; the Onondaga Athletic Club (OAC) RedHawks. Tsha' Honnonyendakwha also serves as an ice arena from September through March. Local high schools and colleges as well as youth hockey (Valley Youth Hockey Association) consider Tsha' Honnonyendakwha their home ice. Report
The Creator gave us many things for us here on Mother Earth; one of them is this game which we call dehontjihgwa'es or lacrosse. Dehontjihgwa'es is translated to mean, "They bump hips." If you ever played or watched a lacrosse game, you can see how the game got its name. Lacrosse at Onondaga is considered sacred.
