With summer fast approaching, our thoughts turn to camp. Many of our students have not been successful at camp in the past because of anxiety and behavior challenges. If that is true of your child, we may be just. Early on in JRA's history, we sadly had to conclude that one of our older students had mental health issues that we weren't equipped to handle, and he needed long term hospitalization.
Because we had done a good job. One of the things that grieves all of us that work at JRA is meeting a potential student and knowing that we can change his or her life-but they can't afford the tuition. We give a significant amount of tuition.

Honoring Our Donors

This will be an evolving page, honoring those who have made donations to Hope Creek Academy, Inc. Our first group is members of the 101 Club; we are asking 101 people to give $101. Starred names indicate donors who have joined more than once or those who have given over and above! Thanks also to those who have joined our "It Takes a Village" club, with donations below $101.
Admissions and Tuition

HCA is designed for kindergarten through twelfth grade students who need a structured environment, clear expectations, consistency, lowered stress, more movement, multi-sensory learning and both remediation and challenge. Our ideal student will be able to function within a group without danger to himself or others.
Academics
Report
Academics are important at Hope Creek Academy. The most intense focus is on reading, language arts, and math, as these are the skills that are critical for students to succeed in the world. Science, social studies, the arts, and languages are worked into the program in an integrated and intentional way.

How can you work with so many students on different levels? Great question! HCA has a low student/teacher ratio. Students are grouped by age into six classes with two or three teachers. For reading, language arts and math, each student has an individualized curriculum that will include one-on-one time with the teacher, small group work, whole class time, computer time and individualized work.
Summer Camps
Report
Hope Creek Academy students make incredible gains throughout the year, but then face a three-month period without programming that can help them retain those gains. In response to that need, HCA offers a summer camp for our students and others. The camp offers children who have previously been unsuccessful in typical summer camp settings because of their behavior the opportunity to enjoy a safe, structured, empowering experience.
